The turn of the century brought a considerably expansion of the university role. Now it sets the tone of the academic life streamlining and adapting the education and giving back to society, in the form of knowledge and technology, all that has been invested in it. The Research Commission of FAU is responsible for coordinating the college actions in this field and it is through it that this college helps with proposals and projects in the university programs to this area. It is of responsibility of the Commission: the coordination of actions of the college in research and the periodic assessment process, encouragement, promotion and the new proposals related to the area, as the dissemination of research results activities at FAU. Research activities are developed in various forms at the college, starting with the scientific initiation programs - PIBIC - also the pos-graduate with master's and doctoral levels, improvement scholarship, beyond consultancies, advisements and covenants. In recent years we witnessed the creation of research laboratories in the departments what has generated knowledge through research groups consisting of undergraduate and postgraduate students supervised by one or more teachers. An important role at the FAU research is also the played by the Research Support Nucleus - NAPs - that rely researchers from more than one USP Units. FAU teachers have strong participation in the coordination and at the Senior team in NAPs listed below.
