INFIERI 2016

4th Summer School on INtelligent signal processing for FrontIEr Research and Industry

January 23rd to February 3rd, 2017

University of São Paulo, Brazil

outcomes from the Labs, Lectures and Posters: STAY TUNED

Astrophysics, Medical Physics, Particle Physics, Technological Challenges for confronting the Physics Challenges, Exploiting Synergies, Cross Disciplinary

Building on the success of the three former schools in the series, held in Europe (Oxford-2013, Paris-2014, Hamburg-2015) this 4th edition of a new global program of annual Summer Schools, covering the complete signal processing chain for building up 21st century instruments, will go this year to South America.

INFIERI 2016 will be held at the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil, ranked the top university in South America, at the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences (IAG), Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME), Institute of Physics (IF), School of Medicine (FM-USP), and at the Polytechnic School (POLI) from January 23rd to February 3rd, 2017.

The school focuses on the most advanced technologies in the fields of semiconductors, very deep submicron and 3D technologies, advanced packaging and interconnects, telecommunications, real-time signal processing, filtering and massive parallel computing. These sophisticated signal-processing schemes are driven by the demands of the New Physics domains to be explored.

The two-tier program comprises lectures and lab works in a variety of cross-disciplinary applications, drawn from the exploration of distant Universe, through Medical Imaging of the human body, to exploration of the elementary particle world.

Experts from academia and industry share their insights on technical developments and present science overviews, alongside with hands-on lab sessions involving demonstrators and subject specific master-classes on science and technology.

The target audience is M.Sc., Ph.D., postdoc-level engineers and physicists.
