National Migratory Registry (RNM)
According to the laws in force in Brazil, the foreigner has up to 90 (ninety) days to request his temporary stay in the country. This procedure is performed by obtaining the National Migration Registry (RNM), which replaced the National Registry of Foreigners (RNE) in 2017. Failure to meet this deadline will result in a daily fine for the foreigner, in addition to the impossibility of enrolling at USP.
The foreigner must access the Federal Police website (http://www.pf.gov.br/servicos-pf/imigracao), check which documents are required according to each case and make an online appointment. A date will be set for the foreigner to appear at the Federal Police Superintendence, according to the campus that is linked, where all original documents must be presented. If the application is approved, a protocol will be issued containing the RNM and, subsequently, the National Migration Registry Card (CRNM) will be made available.
ATTENTION: Access the COMMUNICATION TO FOREIGNERS WHO WILL FINISH THEIR ACADEMIC MOBILITY SOON AND DON’T HAVE THE MIGRATORY NATIONAL REGISTRY YET.
