Raul Machado Neto
Professor Raul Machado Neto is a Full Professor of Animal Science at Universidade de São Paulo. Higher educational training includes BS in Agricultural Science (1973), MSc in Animal Science (1977), both at Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz, the College of Agriculture of Universidade de São Paulo, USP/ESALQ, Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brasil, PhD in Animal Physiology, University of Illinois at Urbana Campaign, USA, in 1980, and Postdoctoral Fellow at Agricultural and Food Research Council-AFRC, Institute for Animal Health, England, (1989-1990). His teaching and research activities are related to animal physiology with focus on passive immunity in domestic animals. He received in 2001 the Scientific Merit Medal of State of São Paulo Governor, is currently Research Fellow of CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development), and has delivered numerous lectures and published sixty three papers in scientific journals.
In addition to research and teaching, he also has been dedicated to several academic administrative duties: Coordinator of Interamerican Bank of Development Program for USP; Member of the University’s Board, ESALQ/USP; Head of the Zoology Department, ESALQ/USP; President of Research Committee, ESALQ/USP; Coordinator of CNPq Scholarships for USP Undergraduate Research Students; President of USP Undergraduate Research Program; Associate Provost for Research; Vice-Dean of USP College of Agriculture/ESALQ; President of USP Call Technology Academic Committee; Assistant of Pro-Rectory of USP Graduate College; Assistant of Research Pro-Rectory and Vice-President for International Cooperation of USP. Currently is Provost for International Cooperation of USP International Cooperation Office.
