Main collaborative research

All the researches developed by the group are linked to the main research of the coordinator and adviser PhD Professor  Lara Leite Barbosa, entitled “Emergency Design: Furniture and Equipment Project for Temporary Shelters with people affected by flood disasters”, at the Department of Project, FAUUSP, since 2010. 

The proposal is limited to the city of Eldorado, São Paulo, located at the Ribeira Valley region, with aproximately 15,000 unhabitants which are constantly affected by strong rain in Brazil and it aims to design and experiment the construction of prototypes in 5 years. 

In July 2012, the initial research phase ended and its objective was a data collection for the comprehension of the issue according to local specificities. During this period, the group was structured and consolidated partnerships searching the approximation with  the community in order to conform a network of the envolved people in the project. 

As part of a collective work, the following researches of the undegraduate students (FAU-USP) contributed through a sistematized constitution of a databank of images, materials, interview data and georeferenced maps.
