The dominant practice of editing Guimarães Rosa's Corpo de baile until 2006 did not highlight a significant aspect of the book: the underlying structure that accounts for the relative autonomy of the stories of the volume. The main contribution of the edition that celebrated half century of the existence of the book amounted to make visible this important trait of the collection of stories.
In This paper we shall show the dialogues between two productions historically distant, the short story "A Terceira Margem do Rio", by Guimarães Rosa, and the music of Caetano Veloso and Milton Nascimento.
